I got wind of something we all can be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!!! You Version in association with the organization One Hope have joined forces to create The Bible App for Kids. If you aren’t familiar with You Version they are the company behind the popular and most downloaded Bible app for both Apple and Android Smartphone & tablet markets. The original Bible app is used by pastors, preachers, teachers, & clergy worldwide, as well as, us non-clergy church goin folk.
Now I gets to Bible Thump DIGITALLY! YEAH YA RIGHT!!!
(threw lil’ NOLA slang in there for ya…your welcome)
I was once opposed to the paper to digital movement…you know planners replaced by Smartphone “reminders”, books being replaced by e-readers, and Bibles being replaced by *gasps* BIBLE APPS?!?! That’s not tangible!! *turns up nose* I was the gal that proudly carried my 30lb (exaggerating) Norton Study Bible to service every week! Oh but when I was introduced to the You Version Bible App by Youth Pastor!!! Never again was I the person who said “amen when I got it” like pastor instructed, but was actually frantically thumbing through my bible to find the scripture reading while silently singing “The Books of The Bible” I learned 20 something years ago in children’s church because I could never seem to find Colossians….smh. Nope! Not anymore! Thanks to You Version’s Bible App pastor says Colossians 2:6 and with 2 taps on my iPad I’m there!
Now our itty bitty believers can enjoy the same convenience! The Bible App for Kids is touch manipulated fully interactive animated storybook style app. The app also built in games and activities to reinforce the information the kiddies learn and is quipped with kid friendly navigation; which is great for me and other parents like me who share in my personal pet peeve of “kid” apps that require a PhD in Quantum Physics to operate! Thus bestowing upon me the priceless, yet incessant cry of “mooooooooom….I need heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp” *scoffs*
The creators of the app ensure us parental units that their goals for the app’s creation and release are to lead our babes into faith in Christ and grow to love The Father as much as we do! Ah! The thought just warms my heart!!! BUT!!!
Let me tell you the BEST part about all of this…
Yes!!! I know?!?! That’s awesome right?!?!?!?! Now tell me that’s not something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!! I’m already excited and thinking of ways to incorporate the app with my church’s youth ministry and with our son for our Christmas Eve Bible reading tradition this year. It blesses my heart to know that thanks to You Version & One Hope my son’s attention will be kept as we read the story of Christ’s miraculous birth this Christmas as well as assist me in building a foundation of faith with my child, of which, God willing he will continue to build upon for the rest of his life.
Weird…I suddenly hear my husband’s voice in head saying *in my best Josh voice*“that’s why I always say…train up a child…” O_O get outta my head Josh! I’m blogger geez louise!
Sooooo yeah….Join the Cool Crowd (peer pressure) by watching the video about the app I posted below & clicking HERE to register
your cell phone number to receive a text the moment the app is released! Come on…you know you want to…everybody is doing it! (more peer pressure) and of course spread the word! I’m totally not getting paid to promote You Version, One Hope, The Bible App, or The Bible App for Kids…I’m just a strong fan and supporter of both organizations and products; and I highly recommend them. As the Word of God states in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.” [AMP]
So be a light in the world…Share this blog post and spread the word about this awesome app so that we may share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the masses!
Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we’re proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. All we are is messengers, errand runners from Jesus for you. It started when God said, “Light up the darkness!” and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful. (2 Corinthians 4:5, 6 MSG)
